Emergency Funding Request Form

Eligibility Criteria

  • The student must be currently enrolled, or during the summer months, enrolled the previous long (fall or spring) semester.

  • The student must have exhausted all other financial resources.

  • The student may be required to provide documentation of the emergency.

  • Funding can only be requested for an emergency caused by extenuating circumstances beyond the student's control, for example a natural disaster or the death of a loved one.

  • The emergency must not have been caused by the student's own negligence, lack of planning or money mismanagement.

Important Information

  • Most sources of funds are typically given only one time during a student's academic career at Texas State.
  • Most sources of funds do not typically exceed $500.
  • A staff member determines the student eligibility and source of funding.
  • A staff member will consult with university offices and/or individuals regarding approval for specific funding.
  • Most sources of funds are typically available within three (3) business days from the date of approval.
  • Most sources of funds will be cancelled if not received within ten (10) business days.
  • State law gives the student the right to request and receive information collected on this form, with few exceptions.
  • Once a student has been approved, he or she may refuse the funds any time prior to disbursement.
  • Only the student's financial aid award information is referenced.
