Texas State University is committed to maintaining social and ethical responsibility for everyone and does not tolerate hazing by any group or individual affiliated with the university.
Participation in hazing activities is against state law and university policy. The university reserves the right to take disciplinary action against individual students and/or groups who are involved in hazing activities.

dressed in regular attire. New members required to participate in activities such as - jump into
river at Sewell Park fully clothed, eat a habanero pepper, access areas off-limits (such as Bobcat
Stadium), escort president to class, put Christmas lights on an active's house, disrupt a class in
session, etc.).

pledge (resulting in required activities related to name). Required to run errands for actives.
Hell Week - new members were not allowed to sleep, access to cell phones, access to food
(unless eaten off the floor), and required to wear specific attire.

General Description of Hazing Incident
Associate members yelled at by initiated members when unable to recall information taught during
the associate member education process, required to complete acts of personal servitude, required
to participate in calisthenics, only permitted to consume canned beans, butter, break, and beer at
the chapter hours during the week leading to initiation. Associate members required to dig a hole,
fill it with water, and sit in it. Associate members required to listen to the same song played on a
loop from a laptop while at the chapter house, required to sit in a cabinet in the kitchen, offered
random food to teach, slide across the outside room of the chapter house after it was covered in
cleaning projects, and required to hold frying pans in front of their faces while initiated members
threw empty beer cans at them.

in injury, blood, and pain. New Members C & D provided same instructions. New Member C
jumped off an elevated platform resulting in breaking her leg in multiple places.

for meals, clean vehicles and homes). New members given titles that required them to conduct
a task. Purchase alcohol and marijuana for actives. Personal servitude for active members and
guests during Spring Break trip.
